Yogurt is virtually a treasure-chest of nutrients and minerals such as zinc, calcium, vitamin B1, B2, B6, B12; proteins and yeast. Yogurt boosts the digestive system, immune system and controls weight. It adds oil to the skin acting as a natural moisturizer. It reduces open pores increasing the overall texture of the skin.
The rich zinc content of yogurt helps reducing acne and blemishes. Applying yogurt on an itchy scalp chases away dandruff. Apart from zinc, yogurt contains lactic acid that removes dead cells and help in smoothening of the skin. Hence, yogurt can be a great ingredient for facials.
Your hands and nails can also benefit from yogurt. Simply apply a frozen mixture of yogurt and lemon juice, leave it for fifteen minutes and rinse clean. Do this for a week and your hands will feel soft and supple. Yogurt mixed with dried fruit peels also makes for a great natural scrubber.
