Baby skin is soft and sensitive, use skin care products specifically made for babies. Use baby oils that moisturize your baby’s skin and keep it soft. Bathe your baby with a mild pH-balanced baby cleanser. To moisturize your baby, use baby lotion. For dry skin, in the winter or in dry climates, you may wish to massage your baby with baby oils before bath and with baby lotion after bath.
Change diapers or nappies frequently. A protective diaper cream will protect your baby against diaper rash, by creating a barrier against wetness. Babies under six months of age should spend some time in the sun, preferably in the early morning hours, rather than the mid-day sun. Sun is a good source of vitamin D. Avoid baby powders containing talc (talcum) and those with skin irritants like fragrances.
Bubble baths are popular amongst parents. However, problem is with what’s in many of those bubble baths. Many of them contain detergents, which are especially bad for baby’s skin. In fact, bubble baths have been linked to urinary tract infections.
